Parents of children still seeking places in Jewish Nursery / Primary Schools for years commencing September 2010

The Schools Strategy Implementation Group was established just over a year ago by the Jewish Leadership Council (JLC)  as a taskforce responsible for implementing the findings of the JLC Commission on the Future of Jewish Schooling.  One of the roles of this group is to continue to chart the position regarding supply and demand in the Jewish School sector.

We have heard anecdotal evidence that a number of children have been unable to get a place in a Jewish nursery / primary school for the coming year, 2010-11.

We are currently trying to ascertain the number of children in this situation - both for nursery places and reception places. This will help those organisations charged with supporting Jewish schools to plan appropriately for the future.

If your child is in this position, please fill in the form on the right of this page.

If you know anyone who might be in a similar situation, please direct them to this page.

A Facebook group has also been created to facilitate discussion between parents who are currently still seeking places at a Jewish school.
