HJPS Nursery is a safe and secure environment, where the children have space and independence to learn through a range of exciting and stimulating activities. It follows the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum where child-initiated learning forms the basis for all experiences. The curriculum is planned using the cycle of the Jewish year as well as other topical and child led opportunities.
The children learn through a balance of child-initiated play and adult-directed activities. These include, water, sand, role play, music, numeracy, reading, creative areas (junk modelling, collage, sticking, cutting), mark making and construction. This takes place through both indoor and outdoor provision in a bright spacious environment.
The nursery closely monitors each child’s progress which enables it to refine the curriculum to provide for their individual needs. This also ensures there is continuity as the children move from nursery into reception.
