Tashbar Primary is a strictly orthodox independent Jewish day school with over 200 boys from Nursery to Year 6. The school was established in 2005 and is located in the heart of the burgeoning Edgware Jewish community.
The school offers a very comprehensive Limmudei Kodesh curriculum taught in the morning and a Limmudei Chol curriculum taught in the afternoons. The school aims to provide ‘an education that will aid the boys to develop their knowledge and allegiance to Yiddishkeit (Judaism)… and equip them with the vital skills for life’.
In June 2014, all areas of the school were judged to be good by Ofsted. They noted “Pupils achieve well from their individual starting points. Teaching is good overall. Pupils enjoy lessons and there is a positive atmosphere for learning throughout the school. Pupils make good progress in both their Kodesh and Chol studies as teachers have specialist knowledge and successfully combine the curriculum with subjects such as literacy, geography, and art and design to offer a broad range of lessons. This means pupils develop a balanced view of modern-day society and have an increasing awareness of different cultures and customs.” Ofsted June 2014
