Wolfson Hillel Primary School is a co-educational voluntary-aided school based in Southgate, London. Established in 1992 the school draws pupils from many surrounding areas including Barnet, Woodside Park, Muswell Hill, Finchley and Borehamwood. The school caters for a total of 478 pupils, with 60 children in Reception.

There are 58 places available in the Nursery which is staffed by a highly skilled and experienced team. Each day the nursery children learn about Jewish Studies, and those who take advantage of the private afternoon provision, available four days a week, can enjoy a hot meaty meal.

The school follows the National Curriculum. Children learn to become confident and independent with the skills and knowledge they will need to take their place in the ever-changing modern world.  Coupled with this is the Jewish Studies curriculum underpinned by a deep love of Judaism, community and Israel.

Wolfson Hillel is committed to the practice of Orthodox Judaism. Rigorous Torah study and values are central to teaching and the school is committed to instilling in children a love for, and commitment towards Israel.

Wolfson Hillel offers an extensive physical education programme featuring tournaments, coaching and competitions across The London Borough of Enfield and the Jewish community. Music supports learning in all areas of the curriculum - both secular and Jewish studies.

Children are also encouraged to attend a range of stimulating school clubs which include karate, table tennis, football, information technology, ballet, arts and crafts, and drama. Each year group enjoys a variety of school visits and workshops, and from Year 5 (age 8) residential trips are arranged.

A healthy, nutritious meaty lunch (with a vegetarian option) is served daily, and these have earned Wolfson Hillel ‘Healthy School’ status. The school’s newly refurbished kosher kitchens are the largest in The London Borough of Enfield and come under the auspices of the London Beth Din. Parents, staff and governors make up a ‘Food Forum’ and review the menu and suggest improvements.

In its most recent Ofsted inspection in 2008 inspectors said: “Wolfson Hillel provides a good education and an outstanding curriculum for its pupils. The school provides an exciting range of activities, clubs and visits so that pupils really enjoy learning.”
