JCoSS is the UK's only cross-communal Jewish Secondary School - inclusive and outward-looking, challenging and innovative, the school embraces excellence in all that it does. Its focus is on academic excellence through a variety of setting, accelleration, extension and enrichment.
JCoSS teaches, with equivalence, the full range of Jewish beliefs, practices and values of the community. It works with each one of its students - whatever their background or upbringing - so that, over time, they can take their place in the Jewish and wider communities as proud, self-confident ambassadors for Judaism and well-rounded positive individuals.
Students will leave JCoSS as articulate, informed and tolerant young adults who are as comfortable and confident in the lecture theatre as they are in the synagogue.
All students follow the full range of National Curriculum subjects, such as Maths, English, French, Pyhsical Education, Science and Humanties. JCoSS is a Science Specialist College, which enables it to incorporate numerous exciting teaching and learning opportunities throughout the curriculum. There is also a curriculum enrichment programme, where students can choose from a range of activities including performance, JGLoSS (its Glee Club), the school magazine, dance, a variety of sports opportunities and so forth.
JCoSS has 180 places on offer for year 7. Please email admissions@jcoss.barnet.sch.uk for more details.
The sixth form will open in 2012 with a range of AS and A-Level courses.
